Database & disk

Database and disk audits that measure before anything is deleted

Clients read total disk as “my site is huge” and go straight for the product images — the one irreversible move. The audit reframes it with measured numbers before anything is touched.

What the work is

Four things, each of which produces a number you can check on your own site afterwards.

22.9 GBOf backups behind one “15 GB website”
81 of 170“Orphan” images rescued by a filename sweep

Size the account before the site

The number the client reacts to is usually account-wide. One site was 14% of its account total and not even the largest domain on it.

Backups, not media, are the bloat

A “15 GB website” was 6.7 GB of site and 22.9 GB of orphaned backup folders from plugins long since removed.

Feature flags before folders

A cache directory is only live if its feature is on. Three option keys moved 98 MB into the zero-risk tier.

Safe reclaim quoted apart from risky

You decide on the risky tier. On the last run the ratio was 79:1 in favour of the safe one.

Measured on a live site

The “huge website” was 14% of the number the client was reading

The client saw one figure in their hosting panel and reached straight for the product images — the only irreversible move on the list.

FAQs

The questionseveryone asks first

Straight answers, including the ones about price, access and what we will not do.

Updates, backups, uptime and security are the floor — every plan has those. What separates a retainer from a host's support desk is the measured work underneath: autoload and database health, object cache sizing, bot policy, disk audits, and a quarterly report with a before-and-after column. Your host will never do any of that, because none of it is their responsibility.
